Dr. Ioannis Lykakis studied chemistry at the University of Crete (1997), Greece and after obtaining his Ph.D. from the same University in 2003 he did postdoctoral research at the CNR in Bologna, Italy and at the University of Crete. In 2011 he was appointed as a Lecturer at the Department of Chemistry of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece, where he is currently an Associate Professor.
So far, he is the author of more than 75 publications in peer reviewed journals and he has given more than 90 presentations in national and international conferences-meetings. His published work has received more than 2100 citations and his h-index is 27 (Goggle scholar). He has also wrote 3 book chapters in international scientific books, 1 scientific book as editor, 2 book chapters in Organic Chemistry Books and 1 book as Co-Editor of the book “Introduction to Spectroscopy”. He has coordinated two special issues, the "Noble Metal Nanoparticles in Catalysis" in Nanomaterials (ISSN 2079-4991), Guest Editors: I. N. Lykakis and G. S. Armatas, 2017, and the “Photocatalysis and Free Radicals in Organic Synthesis” in Organics (ISSN 2673-401X), Guest Editor: I. N. Lykakis, 2021.
