Attending the International Scientific Conference Graphene 2021
Conferences Monday, 01 November 2021 00:00Our group members Emmanuel Klontzas, Ioannis Skarmoutsos, Matina Douka and Aimilia Papasouli attended the International Scientific Conference Graphene 2021 that took place in Grenoble, France between 26–29 October 2021.
We welcome the newest member of our Research Group, Theopoula Asimakidou.
Theopoula is a Postgraduate student working towards her MSc in materials characterization via X-ray based methods. She is a member of the Laboratory of Advanced Materials and Devices of the School of Physics of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She has a BSc in Physics and an MSc in Physics and Material Technology all from the Department of Physics of the University of Thessaloniki.
She has considerable expeirence in the study of molecular systems via X-ray photοelectron spectroscopy (XPS), X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). We expect her to be a great asset to us and has much to offer to our, now common, goals of the GRAFEL project.
Three new positions have opened in our group for PhD student Researchers specialized on Computational Chemistry, Synthetic Organic Chemistry, and X-ray characterization methods.

Conferences Thursday, 30 September 2021 00:00Our group members Emmanuel Klontzas, Ioannis Skarmoutsos, Rafael Lingas and Aimilia Papasouli attended the Ab initio Modelling in Solid State Chemistry (MSSC) Summer School 2021 that took place Virtually in Imperial College London between 20–24 September 2021.
We welcome the newest member of our Research Group, Ioannis Polyzos.
Ioannis is a Postdoctoral Researcher on Raman Spectroscopy and Treatment of 2D materials via LASER based techniques, with a master's degree and PhD in the field. He is an expert in Raman spectroscopy, mechanics response of 2D materials and two-photon absorption. We expect him to be a great asset to us and has much to offer to our, now common, goals of the GRAFEL project.

Katerina is a Postgraduate student working towards his MSc in Computational and Quantum Chemistry. She has considerable expeirence in the study of molecular systems via Quantum Chemical methods. Conferences Thursday, 31 January 2019 07:01Our group members Emmanuel Klontzas and Ioannis Skarmoutsos will attend the 12th PanHellenic Scientific Conference on Chemical Engineering that will take place in Athens, Greece between 29–31 May 2019.
We look forward to this event, to present our latest research and discussing with other research groups and colleagues, and even establishing new collaborations.
We welcome the newest member of our Research Group, Ioannis Skarmoutsos.
Ioannis has a strong background on molecular modelling and ab initio quantum chemistry methods on a wide range of molecular systems. He is an established researcher and has handled several research project of his own. His exceptional research experience will be a great asset to us and has much to offer to our, now common, goals of the GRAFEL project.
