Dimitrios Karfaridis

Dr. Dimitrios Karfaridis is a Postdoctoral Researcher specialized in materials characterization via X-ray based methods. He is a member of the Laboratory of Advanced Materials and Devices of the School of Physics of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He has a BSc in Physics, an MSc in Physics and Material Technology, and a Ph.D. in Applied Physics, all from the Department of Physics of the University of Thessaloniki. His Ph.D. thesis is entitled «Growth, structural and magnetic characterization of advanced, nanometric dimensioned heterostructures applied in magnon - spintronics», receiving a scholarship by the State Scholarships Foundation (ΙΚΥ).

From his MSc studies, he is a fellow and an active member of the Laboratory of Advanced Materials and Devices of the School of Physics of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. His research interest is in experimental physics in the field of spin-based electronics. His research activities are focused on the material growth and study via X-ray photοelectron spectroscopy (XPS), X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM).

He has published 18 peer-reviewed articles in international refereed scientific journals and he has participated in more than 15 international conferences/workshops/schools. He has reviewed more than 10 scientific papers as a referee in two highly rated international journals.
